What is an AOC certificate?
AOC — Air Operator Certificate — is an air carrier certificate issued by Civil Aviation Authority. Not everyone who offers sightseeing flights has one. Many operators simply operate illegally or on the basis of so-called "introductory flights"—which are legal but subject to less stringent regulations (pilots without a professional license). Unfortunately, brokers don't verify this. Before choosing a location, check this for your own safety.
